Elton John Can't Feel The Love From Vladimir Putin

Elton John was really excited that he got a call from Russian President Vladimir Putin. The thing is… Putin never called Elton. OOPS.

Elton John was trolled pretty hard. When Elton thought he received a call from Putin to discuss gay rights, he posted this to his Instagram:

It made international news as a step forward for gay and human rights in Russia. Once Putin and his people got word of this phone call, we assume they all collectively said, “UM, WHAT?” because Putin never called Elton.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this call never took place and released the following statement:

“I don’t know [what happened] but President Putin did not speak to Elton John and most importantly we didn’t receive any proposals to meet.

If the president does get such a signal from Elton John, the president has always been open to discuss any… human rights problems, any issues. He is always ready to clarify the real situation.”

Not bad, troll, not bad.
