Brampton pop starlet, Alyssa Reid’s third full-length album Phoenix is out today, and she stopped by KiSS 92.5 this week to speak to Blake & Wylde about the direction of the record, writing for Kelly Clarkson, and performed a live stripped down version of ‘Dangerous’ in our studios with guests The Heist!

Although the lead single ‘Dangerous’ explores Alyssa’s familiar Pop/R&B sound, the rest of the record is stripped down, and more of a reflection of the songs she writes in her bedroom.

Alyssa told Blake & Wylde, “I feel like I’ve spent so much time writing specifically for radio, and I wanted to just release all the songs that I write in my bedroom at 4 o’clock in the morning.” She continued, “I’ve written a lot for other artists over the past couple of years, so I’ve literally taken all of my favourite songs, and put them on an album, and people are going to hear how they sound when I originally wrote them.”

One of those artists that Alyssa has had the please of writing for, is none of than international superstar Kelly Clarkson!!

When Blake & Wylde asked Alyssa to describe the experience, she said it was, “Insane…I’ve never heard a voice like that in my life.”

Alyssa Reid’s Phoenix is available for purchase now on iTunes, and available to stream on Spotify.
