Star Wars fans will have to wait through 7 extra months of trailers, promo shots, teasers, and more teasers. Star Wars and Lucasfilm have decided to push back the release date of Episode VIII from May 26, 2017 to December 15, 2017.

The cast of Star Wars was originally set to start filming this month in the U.K, but Lucas Films have pushed principal photography to next month. No word on why, Episode VIII is suffering a 7 month delay, but this is nothing new to the series.

The Force Awakens was originally set for a May release until it was also delayed until December of last year. The good news in all of this, there’s plenty of time to watch The Force Awakens another couple hundred times!
