The lovers, or lonely ones, were out in full force over the weekend watching Deadpool. Deadpool raked in $135 Million in three days, making it the biggest opening for an R-rated film in history. Ryan Reynolds’ “little Ryan Reynolds” definitely got the people into the theatres this weekend. Deadpool surpassed The Matrix for the highest grossing opening for an R-Rated movie. The Matrix opened with $91.8 million back in 2003, but Deadpool smashed that with a $135 Million opening.

People weren’t expecting this from Deadpool either, one analyst said via CNBC“This movie is the very definition of an expectation-buster. Nobody saw this coming. It doesn’t feel like a cookie-cutter superhero movie. It feels like something unique. You’ve got to sometimes take risks and go against conventional wisdom to come out a winner.”

The promo for Deadpool was in full force leading up the film, including a Bachelor promo and of course “revealing” Ryan Reynolds revealing himself. Also, Blake Carter screaming about Ryan Reynolds’ reveal definitely pushed the masses to the theatre. Check out the trailer below and catch it in theatres now:
