Pokémon GO is Taking Over the World...Except for Canada

It’s been less than a week since Pokémon GO arrived in North America and it’s already become one of biggest Apps ever. Website SimilarWeb, crunched some numbers on Android and compared the game to several different social media platforms.

As you can see in the charts above, Pokémon GO is already more popular than Tinder and is closing in on Twitter pretty quickly. People are also spending more time playing the game than using most social networks.

Not everything is good in the land of Pokémon however. The game has been linked to armed robberies, one man found a dead body while playing the game, and a man was fired from his job because he couldn’t catch any Pokémon in Singapore.

And right now, most Canadians have a serious case of FOMO. The game is still not available in Canada. So while the rest of the world is busy having a grand ol’ time, we’re stuck here doing stuff like this:
