Scientists have found this little squishy purple dude off the coast of California – and we all wanna keep it! The stubby squid (Rossia Pacifica) was found at a depth of 900 meters in the Pacific Ocean…yup, just chilling there.

According to the Nautilus Live scientists:

This species spends life on the seafloor, activating a sticky mucus jacket and burrowing into the sediment to camouflage, leaving their eyes poking out to spot prey like shrimp and small fish.

To us less scientific types…it’s legit straight out of a cartoon!
