Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are no strangers to tackling serious issues in their music (see their song, ‘Same Love’ with Mary Lambert); their latest song (which also features singer Ariana DeBoo), ‘Drug Dealer’ tackles opioid drug abuse in America.

Macklemore appeared on MTV’s Prescription for Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis special that aired last night on MTV. The special featured the rapper discussing opioid abuse with US President Barack Obama, (see the video below).

In the new track, Macklemore calls out the different pharmaceutical companies for their role in contributing to opioid abuse in America and reference the deaths of Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and Prince, all of which were caused by accidental overdoses.

Take a listen to their new song, ‘Drug Dealer’ above and let us know what you think!
