Katy Perry has released a fun music video for her catchy new single, ‘Chained to the Rhythm’!

The music video sees Katy riding roller coasters and playing games in a fantasy amusement park called ‘Oblivia’ where some of the big attractions are the ‘Great American Dream Drop’ and the ‘Hamster Wheel’.

 

 

Katy shot the video at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California; it was directed by Mathew Cullen (who has worked with Katy before on her videos for ‘Dark Horse’ and ‘California Gurls’) and was produced by Danny Lockwood, Rob Newman, Ben Leiser & Javier Jaminez.

Prior to this release, Katy released a lyric video for ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ which you can check out below.

 

 

Katy is known for her fun, colourful music videos (see ‘Last Friday Night- T.G.I.F’ and ‘I Kissed A Girl’ below).

 

 

 

Over the weekend, Katy released a teaser video that was narrated by Star Trek alum George Takei.

Last weekend, Katy gave her live TV debut performance of her new single (along with Skip Marley) at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards; she’s also set to perform at the BRIT Awards this week.

‘Chained to the Rhythm’ is the first single from Katy’s forthcoming, untitled album and was written by Katy and Sia and was produced by Max Martin. The song features Skip Marley who is the grandson of legendary reggae artist, Bob Marley.
