Mr Shoppers Drug Mart decided today that Toronto didn’t have enough red and white stores, so this summer the Hard Rock Café will become yet another place where you can buy toilet paper and overpriced chips.

The absence of The Hard Rock Café will definitely be felt. The restaurant has occupied that spot since 1978. Hard Rock’s PR said in their statement today, via CityNews, “in May, the lease for Hard Rock Café Toronto … will expireHard Rock International is reviewing other opportunities, both in Toronto and elsewhere in Canada, to expand its cafe, hotel and casino brands.”

The space will cost Loblaw, which owns Shoppers Drug Mart, $2 Million a year. Let’s hope they sell a lot of toothbrushes.
