As the CBC reports, the city of Toronto issued a release today that says, “all islands beaches remain closed ‘until further notice’ and all event permits for Toronto Island Park up to June 30th have been cancelled.”

There will still be Victoria Day fireworks, however, the fireworks will be deployed from a barge on Lake Ontario instead of from Ashbridges Bay. The city is currently using 20,000 sandbags and five industrial pumps to combat the flooding.

The recent weather also suggests that patio season will be beginning on August 2 and abruptly end on August 2nd. UGH.
