Nevada Declared a State of Emergency Because They Ran Out of Weed

Legal weed is coming to Canada very soon, but Nevada beat us to it.

On July 1st, the state made weed legal. On July 7th, the entirety of Nevada was out of weed, so they declared a “state of emergency.”

As Business Insider reported, “on Friday, Gov. Brian Sandoval endorsed the department’s call for a ‘statement of emergency’ which would allow for more licensed distributors.” The problem stems from retailers being prohibited from replenishing their own inventory of marijuana, the weed must come from alcohol wholesalers who own the exclusive rights.

This isn’t the most pressing state of emergency we’ve ever seen, but we’re sure the Cheetos sellers are pretty devastated.
