It was only last month that Selena Gomez had undergone a kidney transplant due to Lupus.  Her good friend, Francia Raisa donated one of her kidneys and since then, both have had a full recovery.  Now, close sources to Selena have confirmed to In Touch that after months of health battles, Selena is ready to share her story in a brand new health documentary.

A source explains, “She’s making a documentary about her health issues.  Selena will talk about her journey, give viewers insight into lupus and clear up any misunderstandings.”

What Selena hopes for is that her new film will be able to help and inspire those alike.  There are many people in the world who are currently in a battle with Lupus and Selena wants to shed light on the disease.  “Since having the transplant, Selena’s a changed woman and appreciates how lucky she is.  The whole experience has been life-changing,” adds the source.

Although it seems as if Selena doing much better and she is back to work (new music and her Coach campaign) sources have also revealed that this entire experience has take it’s toll on Selena, “In the months after she got back from rehab, she was complaining a lot about being sick all of the time, feeling sluggish and gaining weight.  When she found out that she needed a transplant, she panicked. It has taken all her strength to get through this.”

According to Dr. Robert Fadalak, “Your lifespan when you have something like this could potentially be shortened.”  He also adds, “Other organs, like the lungs, can become involved,” meaning, Selena’s fight isn’t over just yet.

Here is Selena Gomez back in 2015, talking to Ellen about Lupus:
