Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have sadly parted with their beloved English Bulldog, Puddy. A regular staple in almost all of Chrissy’s social media snaps, the supermodel took to Instagram to share her sadness for his loss in three separate posts on Wednesday (Mar. 7).

“Today our baby, Puddy, has gone on to the pup heavens. John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating, when I convinced him half-birthday presents were a real thing,” she wrote in the caption of her first photo series. “10 years ago, on May 30th, I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel.”

The 32-year-old posted a carousel of her adorable companion, from cute selfies to sweet family photos to his adorable knight Halloween costume. What many may not have known, Chrissy remarked, is that Puddy actually married Pippa, the bulldog puppy who joined their family last year: “not many people know this but puddy is survived by his wife, Pippa. Yes, they were married.”

Years after Puddy joined the family, another addition was welcomed: Luna was born in 2017, and their dog was obviously smitten with her. In the last post the pregnant mom shared, Puddy can be seen happily licking baby Luna’s toes, as well as sweetly cuddling up to the newborn. “I love you. I will miss you every day,” she wrote.

The Legend-Teigen clan first had a scare last year when Puddy was rushed to an emergency vet clinic after falling ill. Though Chrissy had been afraid of losing him – and Kim Kardashian even sent the pup a get well soon card – Puddy managed to pull through that time. It’s never easy losing a family pet, but luckily Pippa is there to keep the canine cuddles alive.
