The nominees for the 2018 VMAs were officially announced and in the lead – Cardi B with TEN nominations followed by Beyonce and JAY-Z with eight nods.  With seven nods a piece, 6ix God, Drake and Childish Gambino.

In addition, we finally know the first batch of performers!  Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Logic with Ryan Tedder.  According to Billboard, Ariana will perform her latest, ‘God Is A Woman’, Shawn will perform ‘In My Blood’ and for the first time on stage, Logic will collaborate with Ryan Tedder and both will perform ‘One Day.’

And we can’t forget about Jenny from the Block – the beautiful Jennifer Lopez, who will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award and you already know her performance will be truly EPIC!

Billboard explains, “Lopez, whose career spans over two decades, has sold 80 million records worldwide, 40 million albums, had 16 top 10 hit songs, three No.1 albums and is the first woman to have a number one album and film in the same week, with J.Lo and the romantic comedy The Wedding Planner. Additionally, her production company, Nuyorican Productions, has produced hits like Boy Next Door, The Fosters, Shades of Blue, among others.”

 

J.Lo will perform for the first time since 2001 and her latest record with Cardi B and DJ Khaled, ‘Dinero’ is nominated for two VMAs.
