Ed Sheeran Reveals He Wants to Work with Drake: "That Has to Happen At Some Point"

One of those artists just so happens to be the 6ix God, Drake.  Ed says, “I feel like at some point, me and Drake need to do something, I feel like that has to happen at some point.”  According to Ed, “Drake puts out these albums that are huge but then in between he sticks out projects and however big the project is, it doesn’t really matter because it’s not the album, if that makes sense. It just clears the air for the next album.  I kind of learned from looking at how Drake does it.”  Ed explains that he hopes to get Drake for a future followup album.

And it looks as though Ed might be taking a break once he’s finished touring … but not for long.  “I was meant to end my tour in a month from now.  And now I’m ending it September 2019 and that’s going to be like 3 years on tour.  That’s why I think I’ll do something next year because I will go off for another bit of time so there isn’t so long between music.  I would still make it, I just wouldn’t be working,” explains Ed.

And out right now, an Ed Sheeran documentary on Apple Music. According to Billboard, “The film is described as an intimate and personal look into the writing process of Sheeran’s latest album ÷ and his thoughts about making the album that he considers “the peak of his songwriting and musical ability.””  The documentary was directed by Ed’s cousin and filmmaker Murray Cummings and according to Murray, “I decided to make something different.  I wasn’t going to show fame. I didn’t want paparazzi, screaming fans or big stadiums. I didn’t want to have sit down interviews because I didn’t want to tell the audience how something came to be, I just wanted to show them. And I wanted the focus to be the songwriting.”
