As we approach the Thanksgiving long weekend, there will be many of you who will be hosting different parties at your home and to help you with that, we have a list of the things you can to impress your guests to make sure they don’t leave your party within the first 20 minutes of arriving!

That list includes:

  • Offer someone a drink in under 8 minutes.

A cocktail is made in Ottawa on April 11, 2015. Like many others who have decided to cut back on drinking, Carolyn Rebeyka has found there are often few interesting drink options that don't include booze. Many of the traditional options are uninspired (juice, sparkling water) or overly sweet (Shirley Temples, virgin daiquiris). "The options for alcohol, those are almost unlimited," she said. "It seems like bars don't want to be as creative when they're serving their non-drinkers." THE CANADIAN PRESS/Justin Tang

  • Offer a snack within 10 mins
  • Make sure you as the host talk to your guests within 8 minutes of them arriving.

It was that final point that caused Mocha to remember a time that he invited Roz, Katherine, Maurie and Matthew to his home for a dinner party, where Roz and Katherine showed up on time but Maurie and Matthew showed up two hours late! When they tried to call ‘The Damnits’, neither of them answered their phones!

Take a listen to that chat below.
