Ariana Grande has publicly apologized for anyone who’s offended by her latest single ‘7 Rings.’

Although rappers like Soulja Boy, Princess Nokia and 2 Chainz have all accused Ariana of stealing the song (from lyrics to melody) Ariana has caught herself in a separate situation which involves her fans and racial-like lyrics, according to media outlets.

According to the Shade Room’s Instagram post, it all began with this screen shot (below) – a fan wrote, “‘You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it!!’ white women talking about their weaves is how we’re going to solve racism.”  Ariana then reposted the fan’s comment using the caption, “So much love for @aminatou,” which fans were NOT having it!  Once the post was deleted entirely by Ariana, The Shade Room commented, “This #PostAndDelete by Ariana Grande has fans upset because they feel she’s missing the point of the backlash.  Meanwhile, Scooter Braun says ‘7 Rings’ has hit a record on Spotify.”  Ariana’s manager Scooter tweeted, “Official numbers are now in – Ariana Grande’s ‘7 Rings’ now has the Spotify all time record for most streamed song within its first 24 hours with 14,966,544 streams!! 4 million more than the former record holder! History is being made!”

Following the backlash Ariana received, she then apologized for anyone who may have been offended, “Hi Hi.  I think her intention was to be like … yay a white person disassociating the negative stereotype that is paired with the word ‘weave’ … however, I’m so sorry if my response was out of pocket or if it came across the wrong way.  Thanks for opening the conversation and like .. to everyone for talking to me about it.  It’s never my intention to offend anybody.”

As E! News reports, “On the same day Ariana dropped the second single on her upcoming fifth album, Princess Nokia called her out via social media for what she described as striking similarities between ‘7 Rings’ and ‘Mine,’ which was featured on the rapper’s 1992 mixtape.  Princess Nokia posted a video of herself reacting to both tracks being played simultaneously, telling the camera, ‘Does that sound familiar to you? ‘Cause that sounds really familiar to me.  Oh my God! Ain’t that the lil’ song about brown women and their hair? Hmm .. sounds about white.”
