Yay Demi!

Back in July, Demi Lovato was hospitalized after suffering from an overdoes and now 6 months later, she is happy, healthy and celebrating an amazing milestone, her sobriety.  To celebrates this huge occasion, Demi’s team surprised her with a yummy, funfetti cake and a card that read, “Happy 6. Mo.  We are so f*****g proud of you!”  Demi then wrote “Best Day Ever” on her Instagram story.

In addition, Demi also received a sobriety coin and used the ‘prayer hand emoji’ to express how she was feeling.

It was on July 24 the world found out about Demi’s apparent overdose.  She was sent to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA, where she was watched over for two weeks and then received in-patient treatment.  During this, Demi made one appearance on Instagram, and it was an update on her health.  The post (has since been deleted) read, “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction.  What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time.  It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.  I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well.  To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond.  Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time.  I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time.  Without their support and guidance, I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.  I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery.  The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.  I will keep fighting.”

Demi also explained, “I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones.  Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me through this year.”  Towards the end of December, Demi had a message to all of her fans – although she is not ready to tell the world her story and what happened on July 24, she wants fans to understand that unless the story comes directing from Demi herself, you can’t believe everything you read and see.  Read her tweets below.
