In case you missed this year’s Super Bowl Halftime performance, here it is! Maroon 5 took the stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia and well … while some enjoyed their performance, most didn’t!

Maroon 5 were joined by Travis Scott and Big Boi and during their 14-minute set, they performed some of the band’s biggest tunes like ‘Girls Like You,’ ‘Moves Like Jagger,’ ‘This Love,’ ‘She Will Be Loved’ and many more!  However, from the Spongebob Squarepants tribute to Adam’s shirtless self, it seems as though their performance angered fans more than anything.

But don’t be fooled – Adam is a professional and instead of giving in to everyone’s negativity, he thanked his critics.  In a recent Instagram post, Adam writes, “When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote. Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight. We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love.”

And according to Adam, the list of words includes, “Forgive. Laugh. Cry. Smile. Share. Live. Endure. Embrace. Remember. Enlighten. Preserve. Inspire. Sweat. Fight. Express. Give. Receive. Elevate. Climb. Unify. Fortify. Soften. Dance. Scream. Dream. Educate. Provide. Inhale. Exhale. Persevere. Stand. Kneel. Overcome. Love. Listen.”

And since everyone always asks about the names of the remaining band members (besides Adam Levine) M5 consists of Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, and Sam Farrar.

If you ask me, my vote for next year’s performance goes to Jennifer Lopez, Drake or P!nk!
