In a press statement that was released by Avicii’s team, it stated, “He left behind a collection of nearly finished songs, along with notes, email conversations and text messages about the music.  The songwriters that Tim was collaborating with on this album have continued the process to get as close to his vision as possible.  Since Tim’s passing, the family decided not to keep the music locked away — instead they wanted to share it with his fans all around the world.”

The album’s production and writing team consist of Carl Falk, Kristoffer Fogelmark and Albin Nedler.  It’s said that the album will include psychedelia and Caribbean sounds as well as Arabian music and more.  There will also be a Chris Martin collaboration included on ‘TIM’ and the track is called ‘Heaven.’

In a recent interview with The New York Times, the album’s producer, Carl Falk explained what it was like to work on an album without the artist being present, “I was trying to produce through someone else’s eyes and ears — someone who’s not here.  It was really hard not to criticize yourself the whole time. Would he like this? What would he have done?” Click here for The New York Times’ full story on Carl Falk and his journey with ‘TIM.’

Tim Bergling, who was known as Avicii, passed away on April 20, 2018 from suicide.  ‘TIM’ will be released on June 6 and the first single from the album called ‘SOS’ will drop on April 10.  Avicii’s family has decided that proceeds from the album will help raise money for ‘The Tim Bergling Foundation,’ a foundation that helps prevent mental illness and suicide.
