MY HEART!

In a new interview with USA Today, Pink is opening up and getting real about her marriage to Carey Hart, marriage counselling and her previous miscarriages, which all began at 17.  If you have yet to listen to Pink’s new album, Hurts 2B Human, there’s a song called Happy and the lyrics read, “Since I was 17, I’ve always hated my body.  And it feels like my body’s hated me.”

When asked about the meaning behind those lyrics, Pink explains, “The reason I said [that] is because I’ve had this very tomboy, very strong gymnast body, but actually at 17 I had a miscarriage.  And I was going to have that child.  But when that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do.”

Pink continues, “I’ve had several miscarriages since, so I think it’s important to talk about what you’re ashamed of, who you really are and the painful s**t.  I’ve always written that way.”  As of now, Pink shares two beautiful children with her husband, Carey Hart – Willow, who is 7 and Jameson, who is now 2.

Pink also opens up about her marriage and the relationship she has with Carey.  In the song Happy, it says, “Since I was 22, I’ve been with somebody who loves me.  And I’ve been trying to believe it’s true.  But my head always messes up my heart, no matter what I do.”  Pink describes her new album as, “Not as angsty and marital as previous records” and about Carey, “He’s the biggest part of my village.”  Pink also tells USA Today she thanks therapy for keeping her marriage alive and well, “I believe in self-confrontation and just getting things out.  What I love about therapy is that they’ll tell you what your blind spots are..  Although that’s uncomfortable and painful, it gives you something to work with.  I think the reason I can go to such uncomfortable places and be so honest is because I have a really healthy sense of humour.  I’m extremely self-deprecating and when s**t goes bad, which in any life is inevitable, you’ve just got to find the funny.  It’s because I can laugh that I can cry so hard.”

Throughout the interview, Pink reveals she and Carey have been in therapy for 17 years, “Carey and I have been in couple’s counseling almost our entire 17 years we’ve been together.  It’s the only reason we’re still together.  We come from broken families and we had no model of, ‘how are we supposed to keep this family together and live this crazy life?’ And there’s no model.  There’s no book that says, ‘Here’s how to do this.’ So we go to counseling and it works.”

Pink is the REALEST and this is why I have so much respect for her!
