Miley Cyrus is back with a new music video, and it’s for her latest single called Slide Away.  As Billboard explains, Several scenes from the new video echo those from the clip for Miley’s 2012 No. 2 hit “We Can’t Stop” — from the hard-partying extras to the shots of the sun-drenched star looking out from the edge of the pool — except this time, she’s fully detached from the revelry happening around her.”

Slide Away comes shortly after Miley and Liam Hemsworth separation.  It was on August 10 that news broke all over social media.  Miley and Liam were together (on-and-off) for ten years and were married for less than one year.  The separation was first reported by PEOPLE who, at the time, released a statement on behalf of Miley’s rep, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

A few weeks back, Miley released her own statement which was posted on her Instagram page.  It reads, “There are no secrets to uncover here.  I’ve learned from every experience in my life.  I’m not perfect, I don’t want to be, it’s boring.  I love Liam and always will.  At this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind.”

And talking to GQ Australia back in May, Liam explains, “I was 18 when I met Miley.  We really fell in love quickly and had a really strong connection from the beginning and I think in the back of my head I knew it was on the cards, but we weren’t planning to have a wedding anytime soon. Then just going through something this emotional with someone, it brings you closer and we felt like we’d lost a big part of our lives, so we wanted to make a new part of our lives. It was something really good coming out of a horrible situation. It was going to happen eventually, but I think this just sped it up a little bit.”
