Taylor Swift has told us her mom has a brain tumor.

Taylor talks about her mom, Andrea Swift, in a new Variety interview.

Let’s go back to 2015 when Taylor revealed her mom was diagnosed with cancer on tumblr:

“The results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer….She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle.”

Then in March 2019 Taylor revealed her mom was once again battling cancer in an Elle magazine interview:

“Both of my parents have had cancer, and my mom is now fighting her battle with it again. It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else. My mom’s cancer is a real problem.”

Now in this Variety interview Taylor talks about the brain tumor:

“While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumor. And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before. So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family.”

Taylor’s made changes to her touring. Instead of doing a huge tour to support her new album Lover, she’s only doing festivals here and there:

“Yeah, that’s it. That’s the reason. I mean, we don’t know what is going to happen. We don’t know what treatment we’re going to choose. It was just the decision to make at the time, for right now, for what’s going on.”

On Taylor’s album Lover she wrote the heartbreaking song “Soon You’ll Get Better” about her mom’s cancer fight:

F cancer.

More of Andrea’s health battles will be in Taylor’s new Netflix documentary Miss Americana that’s out on January 31st.
