Like many other artists who had tours lined up for 2020, BTS has decided to reschedule their ‘Map of the Soul’ Tour in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The tour was scheduled to kick off in Seoul, South Korea on April 11th, which was promptly cancelled in February. The next cancellation came up a month later, when the 7 group boy band announced their North American leg of the tour would be postponed. The tour was scheduled to host shows all over Asia and Europe.

Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’s management released a statement on April 28th regarding the postponement. “Due to the nature of BTS concerts, involving travel by thousands of international fans no matter where the performances are held, it is also difficult to resume the tour with the current strict restrictions on cross-border movement still in place. Moreover, it is impossible at this time to predict when the first performance marking the start of the tour will be able to begin. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the previously announced tour schedule and develop a new schedule.”

Although this may come as disappointment to the BTS Army, the boys have dropped a loaded new trailer for a docuseries titled ‘Break the Silence’, detailing their performances from the 2018 Love Yourself World Tour and its 2019 extension, the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour. There is a lot of magic to witness in this documentary, considering they raked in over $196 million between November 1st 2018 to October 31st 2019,  and played to more than 1.6 million people across 42 shows. The 2019 Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour summed up $116.6 million and sold 976,283 tickets.

With the release of this docuseries (May 12), there will most likely be even more hysteria and pandemonium once the tour is back on track and the dates have all been rescheduled. No worries BTS Army, this too shall pass.
