Their debut solo album, Up All Night was released in 2011 and featured the singles, ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and ‘One Thing’.

The following year they released, Take Me Home which featured, ‘Kiss You’ and the Ed Sheeran-assisted ‘Little Things’.

In 2013, they released Midnight Memories and simultaneously announced their second worldwide tour Take Me Home; the boy band 5 Seconds of Summer and UK singer Olly Murs joined them on that tour.

The album was record setting for the group as it became the fastest selling album in Amazon’s UK history and by debuting at number on the Billboard chart, it helped 1D become the first group in history to debut at number one in the US with their first three albums.

Midnight Memories featured ‘Story of My Life’ and ‘Best Song Ever’.

Four, their fourth studio album, would turn out to be the group’s last with band member Zayn Malik who would reveal in March of 2015 that he was leaving the band to pursue a solo career; he would later go on to release his debut solo single, ‘Pillow Talk’.

Four featured the singles, ‘Steal My Girl’ and ‘Night Changes’ and once again debuted at number one on the Billboard chart, making them the first band to have their first four albums reach number one on the music chart.

The band’s last album (at least for now) was called Made in the A.M. and was released in 2015 and was also the group’s first without Zayn; it featured the singles, ‘Drag Me Down’, ‘Perfect’ and ‘History’.

The group would then go on to announce a hiatus which began in January 2016 as the members would go on to pursue solo projects.

As mentioned before, Zayn would go on to release his debut solo album, Mind of Mine in 2016 which featured the aforementioned, ‘Pillow Talk’ along with other ‘Befour’ and ‘It’s You’.

Zayn would also team up with Taylor Swift on the song, ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ off the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack in 2017.

Niall Horan is currently working on his debut solo album but has released two singles, ‘This Town’ and ‘Slow Hands’.

Niall also sat down with Adam Wylde about his forthcoming album.

Louis Tomlinson’s first solo offering was a collaboration with Steve Aoki on a song called, ‘Just Hold On’, but he just released his first solo single called ‘Back to You’ featuring Bebe Rexha.

Louis recently opened up about tension he had with Zayn Malik and how his mother, before she passed away, asked him to make amends with his One Direction band mate, My mum said, ‘You’ve got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life’s too [expletive] short…A mother’s intuition is crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted.”

He added, “I can’t stand to hold a grudge with anyone…It doesn’t sit right with me. If there is any animosity, just clear the air. I met up with him and it was nice… Zayn was always good for me in the band because he was my go-to if I wanted to… lark around. I could always break the rules a little bit with Zayn.”

Back in May, Liam Payne released his debut single, ‘Strip That Down’ featuring Quavo of Migos.

He spoke with our very own Jax about his new single and forthcoming album.

Harry Styles also released his debut solo album (self-titled), which features the single, ‘Sign of the Times’.

He’s not only been doing music, Harry has also ventured out into the acting world as he appears in the Christopher Nolan film, Dunkirk which is out right now!

While it’s great to see the boys doing so well on their own, it would be nice if they got back together soon and in various interviews, each member has said that would happen in the future.

Happy 7 years 1D!
