Well, it’s been a couple of years since Toronto has seen Kendrick Lamar… and let’s just say… he was worth the wait, and he didn’t come alone!

The Cali born rapper had Big Baby D.R.A.M and Travis Scott open for his DAMN. Tour at the Air Canada Centre tonight.

Travis Scott had everyone in awe with his memorable performance. Travis had a bird’s eye view since he performed most of his songs straddling an animatronic bird!

From fans jumping on stage to enjoy the classic ‘crowd surf’, to Travis handing over the microphone to a die hard fan to rap one of his songs… And even telling security “Don’t be a party pooper, all the kids just wanna have fun”. He had everyone on their feet, getting them hyped for Kendrick’s set.

Kendrick’s performance was filled with many twists and turns. He took us all on a wild ride… and DAMN… no one wanted it to end.

As great as Kendrick’s new songs are, he couldn’t help but doing a couple of throwbacks like  “Swimming Pools” and “Backseat Freestyle” which made everyone in the crowd go absolutely insane!

Throughout his whole concert there we some serious Karate Kid vibes. He took us on a journey of evolving from a young grasshopper to a master. He also had Masters display their moves and he used that time to make his way onto a platform in the middle of the ACC, surprising everyone and performed “Money Trees”. He then went on to sing “Love”, and had each fan falling more in love with him shortly before he had to go. But everyone was still doing “Alright” and hands stayed in the air.

A powerful moment happened during his last song, “Humble”. The award-winning artist started his new single by letting the audience rap it out, but seemed shocked at how well they knew the lyrics. He stayed there and listened to the ENTIRE stadium sing his song back to him. To say Kendrick Lamar was “Humbled” was in understatement. Kendrick’s love for Toronto was repeated multiple times during his show. “You’ve been there since the beginning”.

I don’t know if it was all the weed in the air but everyone left tonight on cloud nine, literally. For those going to his concert on August 23rd, just know, you’re in for an amazing time.
