Meet MILLER LITE! After being surrendered, this dude spent some time in rehab to work on his fearfulness. After a few months, some training and a LOT of fetch to break him out of his shell, he is ready for ADOPTION. He has adjusted very well to his foster home. He is patient and eager for your arrival and will greet you at the door with his ball and wagging tail. He is a 5 year old Pug/Jack Russell/Shepherd mix! He has medium energy and is obsessed with fetch. Like, obsessed. He would love to have space to chase a ball whether its at a nearby park or right in his own backyard. He likes the quieter neighbourhoods and may be made for a rural environment. He is potty trained, crate trained, heels like a champ and knows basic commands. He is fearful of strangers but now it takes him about 10 minutes to warm up versus the 2 weeks it took him when we first got him. He is dog and cat social. He likes space at times and wants to be able to warm up to you in a calm environment. He is not kid social. He needs gentle boundaries and guidance. He benefits from regular play time so get used to slobbery toys on your lap (where he continues to chew them).

We CANNOT get over how cute Alize is! She is a total sweetie. She sleeps in-between us at night (until we kick her off) and is by our side all day. That said, leaving her alone has proven to be no problem at all. She just crashes and waits for you to come home. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She’s what I would describe as a ‘non-photogenic show stopper’ because really, the photo’s don’t do her justice. Once she gazes at you with those little old lady hound eyes, you’re basically done for. She’s a beaut.
As far as a perfect home, she seems super into kids and other dogs, and even cats. Her previous owners had a new born baby, so she is drawn to children, especially strollers. She is intrigued by cats, but not a psycho-cat-hunter type of dog. She just wants to say hello and maybe give a bit of a chase. Other dogs are not an issue either. She occasionally gets into a bit of a growling/bark-off with other dominant dogs but for the most part she is super friendly and chill. She loves people. She needs a home where people have time for her. She needs a bit of maintenance (ie. topical baths every 2-3 days, daily ear cleaning) but generally she is a hassle free gal. She has a lot of love to give, and needs someone who has the time to reciprocate. She is a happy, low energy dog who just wants to be your friend. With some consistency and a bit of disciplining, she will be an amazing companion”.

For anyone who had the pleasure to meet these two at the adoption event couple weekends ago — they are so damn chill. ROMEO is totally ready for anyone to pet him and will prance up to any new face and hope for some love and attention. TURBO is a little more reserved and will stay close to his human companion until he feels safe. Both dogs are happy dudes, looking for someone to let them rent out their couch and in return get two adorable (and don’t forget soft) cuddle buddies. They only ask for a short walk or two a day and possibly some playtime at the dog park where ROMEO will show you his speed! Both are dog social but ROMEO likes to chase cats! They also aren’t the biggest kid fans but are good with dog friendly, older ones. We get that it seems like a lot to welcome two fluff balls into your home, but they make it quite easy as they are both very adaptable and easy going. They are great home alone, good with new faces and friends and will be great additions to your family. Please consider opening your home to two amazing and loving dudes.

BRANDI is looking for a warm home to spend this Christmas season. Just arriving from Mexico, she’s getting her first taste of winter and wants a furever home to share her first snowfall with. She is just over a year old and is a Mexican mutt! She is medium sized with medium energy. She can be very puppy like when she’s active and playing but also calm when she needs to (like when she comes to stay with you at the office). Her favourite thing is meeting new Canadians, dogs or people, and making new besties to tell her Mexican PayPals about. She is potty trained, crate trained and is learning basic commands. She is great with other animals and is happy and appreciative of any love you will give her.

When you try to coddle a 45lb fish.. Did y’all know that TUNA has been adopted?! There may be plenty of fish in the sea but for @chjpugh she was the that special fish! “Tuna is swimming along just fine. She truly is a happy fish. In house, she is great, and we are working hard on her on leash behaviour. She still is throwing tantrums on leash, but I think we will have that settled in a month or so. She seems very happy and has made herself the head of the household. Everyone who meets her absolutely loves her. She is an amazing pup!” This dude is dedicated to provide her with what she needs to continue her training. We couldn’t be thrilled for the happy couple.

GEORGE came over from Dominican and was immediately scooped up by his foster! He’s doing great! “George is doing really well and we are so happy to have him as part of our family! George is a very happy boy and it did not take long for him to get comfortable living with us and with our routine. He is very affectionate and loves having his ears and belly rubbed and hanging out with us. Sometimes this even means him trying to sit on our lap (all 80 pounds of him). We take him on a lot of walks in our neighbourhood and to the park near us. At first he was slightly skittish with the noises on busy streets, but he is getting used to the noises and smells. He also loves chasing squirrels! Were looking forward to seeing him in the snow for the first time (hopefully he likes it!). Overall, he seems to be adjusting well to his new home in Canada and we are happy he has because he has added a lot of joy to our lives!

Another foster fail! TOSHI has been adopted and is now in his furever home! You’ve never heard of him because his foster scooped him up immediately after arrival! “When this tiny Chihuahua came into our home as a Foster we had no idea he’d be staying forever. But after getting to know him a little bit we were hooked and knew he had to stay. Toash is such a funny little man. He’s not so great with strangers, but his shelter past might have something to do with that. He’s great with us but needs some time warming up to new people. He loves loves loves to play, and loves curling up next to me (or on me) on the couch. He has the cutest little crooked smile – I’m so happy I’ve welcomed him in as a forever furry family member”
