Demi Lovato is upping her music game and showed off her Spanish side (YES!! She’s half Mexican on her dad’s side) in a Spanish-language version of her current hit, ‘Tell Me You Love Me’.

Billboard explains, “This release comes in partnership with Spotify for their initiative Amplify, a hub “hat highlights, empowers, and amplifies important topics and marginalized voices, and also the streaming giant’s “Women of Latin” initiative, that gives a platform to the diverse voices of Latin women in the music industry.”

“I’ve been wanting to release a version of #TellMeYouLoveMe in Spanish for awhile now.  Thank you @Spotify for helping put this together,” writes Demi on Instagram.  And in a promo video, Demi says, “I’ve become more secure in myself as a woman. It’s kind of the same way with being an artist in music. I’ve just kind of grown into myself.”  In 2014, Demi explained to Glam Belleza Latina Magazine that even though she knew about her Mexican side, she didn’t feel Mexican, “I knew what being Hispanic was, but I thought that since I didn’t look Hispanic, I was white.”

And this isn’t the first time Demi showed off her Spanish roots.  In November, she and Luis Fonsi dropped ‘Échame La Culpa’ which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay Chart.
