It’s been reported by PEOPLE that Demi Lovato has left her in-patient rehab facility and has flown to Chicago for additional treatment with a psychiatrist.

PEOPLE report, “Demi left her treatment facility and flew with her mom Dianna De La Garza late Thursday to Chicago, where she’ll meet with a psychiatrist who specializes in mental health and sobriety for several days.”  The trip to Chicago

It was on July 24 news broke about Demi being rushed to the hospital following an overdose that took place in her Hollywood Hills home.  After spending two weeks in the hospital, surrounded by family, friends and a team of doctors, Demi was released last Saturday and then entered an in-patient treatment facility.  A source told PEOPLE, “At the hospital, she was surrounded by family and friends that support her sobriety.”  Family members included her mom, Dianna along with her step-dad, Eddie De La Garza and sisters Dallas and Madison.  Also there, Demi’s ex, Wilmer Valderrama.  The source also added, “They all want Demi to be the best she can.  Demi is surrounded by a lot of love.  She has people in her life that really care.  She has a long journey ahead, but with all the love, her journey could absolutely be a positive one.”

A source close to Demi says, “She’s in the midst of recovery.  It’s going to be a long road, and Demi knows that.  Emotionally, it hasn’t been easy, but she’s doing okay.”

For many years, Demi unfortunately battled addiction, an eating disorder and mental illness.  It was in 2010 that she traveled to Chicago and entered a rehab facility.  Upon leaving the facility, Demi relapsed and stayed in a sober living facility for a year.  It was March of this year that Demi celebrated her six years of sobriety however, Demi revealed in a song called ‘Sober’ that she had relapsed.
