Music Artists React to Mac Miller's Death: "We Lost An Inspiration"

Wow – I’m so speechless right now!

Earlier today, news broke that Mac Miller passed away at the age of 26 due to an apparent overdose.  Following the tragic news, it’s been tribute after tribute on social media from members of the hip-hop community and other music artists including Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers and even James Corden.

Ariana Grande, who dated Mac for two years has not yet spoken about Mac’s sudden death.  According to PEOPLE, Ariana has disabled her comments on Instagram after fans blamed her for Mac’s passing.  Mac was found in his home, in San Fernando Valley and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ariana once called their past relationship ‘toxic’ and shortly after their breakup, Mac struck a power pole and fled the scene.  He was later charged with a DUI and hit and run and it was reported that his blood alcohol was twice the legal limit.  In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Mac says, “I made a stupid mistake.  I’m a human being.  But it was the best thing that could have happened.  I needed that.  I needed to run into that light pole and literally have the whole thing stop.”
