Mark your calendars because on October 22, we’re getting new music from Normani AND Calvin Harris!

While at the 2018 American Music Awards, Normani hinted about what’s to come next, “I’ve been in the studio a ton working on my first album.  It’s been such a whirlwind.  I’ve been able to start from the ground up.  I’ve been able to wear many different hats,” and by that, Normani means writing her own songs and co-producing.

Dn’t worry, this collaboration with Calvin Harris isn’t the only music Normani is releasing.  She has OTHER collaborations and features on the way.  But wait, what happened to that Sam Smith collaboration? “We laid some vocals down, I will say that,” Normani dishes so maybe, just maybe, we’ll get something from Normani and Sam in the near future.

Normani spoke to Rolling Out Magazine last year, where she revealed details of what’s to come and what held her back during Fifth Harmony days, “I’m actually really excited to figure that out … it’s definitely more R&B and more soul because we’re generally pop [and] urban.  But I definitely have more soul than I’ve been given the opportunity to showcase and offer.”

 

Normani continues, “I kind of have to take pieces of myself to fit what it is that radio wants … I just feel like I haven’t been able to showcase my full potential.  I hate the fact that people can judge based on something that isn’t fully given to them.  Like this isn’t the full product.  This isn’t all I have to offer, so don’t judge based on this little piece of what you’re given.  I have so much in me that people don’t even know, and I can’t wait to offer it to them.”

Earlier this year, Normani collaborated with Khalid on their super hit track ‘Love Lies’ and to this day, their song is still doing well on the charts!
