2018 was a HUGE year for music – artists like Drake, Ariana Grande and Kendrick Lamar took over the music charts and now that the nominations for the 61st GRAMMYs are officially here, it’s hard to say WHO will win on music’s big night.  What we do know – Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Lady Gaga are in the lead with most nominations (well deserved).

Do you want to know who else is being nominated for a GRAMMY (or two)? Pop princesses Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha and Demi Lovato!

Dua is nominated for two awards, ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Best Dance Recording.’  Bebe Rexha is ALSO nominated for ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Best Country Duo / Group Performance’ with Florida Georgia Line, and Demi Lovato along with Christina Aguilera are nominated for their duet, ‘Fall In Line.’

So, how did Dua takes the exciting news? Just watch her Instagram video below.

Dua told Billboard, “When people started to FaceTime me, I knew something had happened,” not to mention, Dua says that this is ‘the highlight of her year.’  “I had to stop [the meeting] because I started crying.  I haven’t really been able to process it. I’ve been crying all morning. I’m really excited and grateful and taken back by the response. It’s hard for me to put it into words,” explains Dua.

Dua continues, “It’s the biggest nomination you could get.  So many artists I’ve looked up to my whole life have been nominated, it’s such a thrill to me. And being from Kosovo and seeing how much it means to people back home is crazy. It means a lot to me as well. I feel like I’m representing myself but also the U.K. and Kosovo too. It’s a very proud moment for me.  I feel like the industry has been dominated by men for such a long time.  To wake up and be nominated in the best new artist category, where every artist except for two [Luke Combs and Greta Van Fleet] is a woman, that’s a good feeling. I’m so proud of all the girls, because I do feel like we need to work a bit harder, and that’s not taking the merits away from any male artist — I know how demanding this job can be. I just feel really grateful to be nominated alongside so many talented women I admire, and some I even call my friends.”

But, don’t worry, with Dua’s busy schedule, she found the time to celebrate, “I started with champagne for breakfast.  It’s more about enjoying the feeling rather than doing something to celebrate. All I want to do is do my job to the best of my ability. I’m so grateful for this opportunity, and I want to make sure people feel like they made the right choice for nominating me for these categories.”

What about Bebe Rexha?

“I was really nervous about today, so I went out last night.  I celebrated too much last night!” Bebe tells Billboard.  “I was crying and jumping and laughing.  It’s unreal. It’s just so cool.  I think that a Grammy nomination is a Grammy nomination.  But country? I never thought that [I’d be nominated in the genre]. That’s life. You think you know where everything’s going to go with your life, but you have no idea. ‘Meant to Be’ has brought me so many blessings and so many incredible opportunities. It’s changed my life for sure.”

Bebe also tells Billboard that she’ll celebrate her major accomplishment with her family in New York, “My parents are crying right now, I can’t focus! Today I’m just going to hang out with my family. I flew my 16-year-old cousins out to come watch me perform at Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden because it’s been a dream of mine to perform there. I’m going to spend the day with them and my family. I’m so happy to be in New York while this is happening. It’s the best feeling.  I always dreamed of this moment because it’s something that would validate me.  I always wanted to make myself feel like I truly made it. For me, this is everything. This year has been such a whirlwind. It’s one of the best years of my life.”

Look at that – Bebe is STILL on the grind! She tweeted, “Just turned in my next single.  2019.”  And her final thought, “There’s a lot of stuff happening.  It’s just a dream come true.”

Lastly, Demi Lovato! Demi is nominated for ‘Best Pop Duo / Group Performance’ with Christina Aguilera for ‘Fall In Line,’ a record off of Christina’s Liberation album.  Demi shared the exciting news on Twitter and tweeted, “Woke up filled with hope.  Dreams come true y’all… thank you @xtina. I love you so much.”

In a separate Tweet, Demi wrote, “I grew up in Texas, singing to @xtina everyday, DESPERATELY trying to hit her high notes.  If you would’ve told me I’d have a Grammy nod with her I would’ve laughed in your face!! This is so surreal..”

This is Demi’s second GRAMMY nomination – her first, when her album Confident lost to Adele’s 25 for ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ in 2017.
