'Woodstock 50' Announces Official Lineup Featuring Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus & More!

It’s been 50 years and Woodstock is back with a brand new summer festival: Woodstock 50 goes down in New York’s Watkins Glen from August 16 to 18 and will features some of today’s (and yesterday’s) biggest musicians like Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Chance the Rapper, Janelle Monae and many more!

And to make the festival eve more authentic, some of Woodstock’s original headliners will also make an appearance, like Santana, Robert Plant, John Fogerty and David Crosby.

Rolling Stone writes, “To invoke the political spirit of the original Woodstock ’69—which “proved that it is possible to live together in harmony and with compassion”—the event partnered with organizations like March for Our Lives, Conservation International, and Chance the Rapper’s Social Works, in order to “help heal the planet.””

The last attempt at Woodstock happened back in 1999 and according to many sources, that event was a ‘complete disaster.’  As the website states in its history section, “In August 1969, over half a million people came to upstate New York for the 3 days of Peace & Music. The Woodstock Music & Arts Fair.  “Woodstock 1969 was a reaction by the youth of its time and the conditions we faced,” says Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang. “We proved that it is possible to live together in harmony and with compassion…with only our best selves represented.
