Yup – I promise you, this is a REAL thing! Cardi B has already filed an application to trademark her famous ‘OKURRR.’

Cardi B plans to make some major money moves by trademarking her signature word / sound, working alongside her company by the name of Washpopping, Inc.  According to Rolling Stone, “The clothing trademark would cover T-shorts, sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, pants, shorts, jackets, footwear, headgear, namely hats and caps, blouses, bodysuits, dresses jumpsuits, leggings, shirts, sweaters and undergarments.  The rapper also submitted an application that covers the misspelled use of the word: ‘Okurr.'”

During a visit to The Tonight Show, Cardi explained the phase to Jimmy saying, “It’s like a cold pigeon in New York City.”  Watch below.

Unfortunately, not EVERYONE is on board with the trademarking plan.  Cardi received a ton of online backlash but one thing you need to know about Cardi, it’s ALWAYS clapback season in Cardi’s world.  She posted a video on Instagram saying, “You h**s are mad because I trademarked ‘Okurrr?’ Let me tell you something – you think I ain’t gone profit off this s**t? B***h, white folks do it all the time.  So you’re going to get mad at me because I want some money? Let me tell you something, while I’m still here, I’m going to secure all the f*****g bags.  Let me give y’all a secret too.  It’s 2019, b*****s, there are a lot of ways to get rich.”  Watch the video below.

(Heads up, strong language)

I mean, it only makes sense considering Cardi has been getting everyone on the ‘OKURRR’ train.
