Holy Cannoli! BTS has done it again!

 

After BTS and Halsey made major music video history on YouTube after having the biggest first-day debut for ‘Boy With Luv,’ it has broken a total of three Guinness World Records.  According to a statement that was issued by Guinness it reads,  “Most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours,” “Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours” and “Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group,” and a Guinness representative said, “We’re honoured to have BTS as part of the Guinness World Records family,” and in a statement released by Guinness World Records, it reads,

 

 

Billboard says, “In addition, the company also announced today that K-pop fans had set a new record for the most used hashtag on Twitter in a 24-hour period, with the hashtag “Twitter Best Fandom” collecting over 60 million impressions between March 16 and March 17 of this year. The hashtag was utilized during the 14th Annual Soompi Awards’ voting period.”

And the Guinness website notes, “Previous record holders include Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ (55.4 million views), BTS’ ‘Idol’ (45 million), Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ (43.2 million) and PSY’s ‘Gentleman’ (38 million).  Fellow K-Pop sensations BLACKPINK had a fleeting grasp of all three record titles for just over a week, with 56,700,000 views in 24 hours of their latest single ‘Kill This Love’ which premiere on April 4.”
