This is NOT an emergency.

On the hottest day so far this year, Peel Regional Police tweeted a reminder that 911 is not for complaining about ice cream trucks:

Did someone actually call 911 to complain about an ice cream truck?

Was it on fire?

No?

Was it selling poison to kids?

No?

Did it run you over?

No?

How is it some people can’t learn what 911 is for?

I honestly don’t know where to start.

Anger begins to rage through my body but I don’t want this dumbass to ruin my day.

Then a wave of disappointment fills me as fellow humans can be so ignorant and narcissistic and, frankly, dumb sometimes.

Then there are the people who call 911 to complain about Amber Alerts while a child is missing.

Do people with cold, dead hearts have the inability to learn?

I’m not asking you to change.

It would be nice but I think that’s asking too much.

I’m asking you to show some sort of IQ and learn that 911 is for emergencies only.

May you have ice cream.

BTW, one woman has started a petition to start fining people for unnecessarily calling 911. Read more here.
