Both Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara have definitely made us Canadians proud – they’re talented, they’re super-humble and together, they just dropped a mini documentary that was filmed during their last week on tour.

Shawn announced he was going to hit the road earlier this year so it only made sense to invite Alessia along for the ride.  Both Shawn and Alessia traveled throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe.  To announce this exciting news, Alessia posted a short teaser on Instagram, with the caption reading, “SM tour final week mini doc out tonight.”  Seeing as how the mini doc focuses on Shawn’s final tour week, it obviously includes his massive, sold out Toronto show.

According to Narcity, “The Shawn Mendes show in Toronto was a huge deal. Tim Hortons made a whole campaign about it, deeming him a hometown hero with customized Shawn Mendes cups and everything. He also launched a clothing line with the company Roots that had a massive pop-up right outside the venue. It’s definitely going to be exciting to see how that all translates in the documentary. “

Earlier this month and as a thank you, Alessia shared kind words about Shawn.  Alessia writes, There are good people, and then there are people who, if you could see into their core, have a million little particles of benevolence floating around in there.  That is Shawn Mendes.  His heart is as potent as his ambition and I learned so mich from him these last few months, both on and off stage.”

there are good people, and then there are people who, if you could see into their core, have a million little particles of benevolence floating around in there. that is @shawnmendes. his heart is as potent as his ambition and I learned so much from him these last few months, both on and off stage. tonight we played our 76th and final show of the SM tour (we took this pic show 1!!) and I feel so grateful. thank you to this guy and his team for sharing a piece of this tour with me and mine. I’m sad it’s over but so thankful to have been a part of something so special. thank you to every person in every crowd who welcomed my band and I with open arms and genuine love. performing for fans other than your own can be scary, but you all made it feel like home. won’t forget this one ever ever ever. x
