Ali Gatie Shows Love in All its Forms in the 'It's You' Video

22-year old Mississauga native Ali Gatie is our KiSS ‘One To Watch’ artist for October. His new single, ‘It’s You’ debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 97 and peaked at number 70, making it Ali’s first Hot 100 entry.

Talking to Billboard, Ali explains the inspiration behind ‘It’s You,’ “The song came very naturally to me.  It only took 15 minutes to write the entire record. I was just feeling the words in that moment and speaking from the heart.”

Ali also went into detail about the music video, “The video showcases love in all of its forms, shapes and sizes.  The video tries to represent every person or situation that “It’s You” could be for each listener. It’s very diverse and showcases love in different ways.”

According to Billboard, “The intimate clip finds Gatie riding in the backseat of a car, but the couples shown throughout come from a range of ethnicities and are of various ages.”

Since its release, ‘It’s You’ has received more than 68 million on-demand audio and video streams in the U.S. and as of recently, has reached Gold status.  In an Instagram post, Ali writes, “Almost 4 years ago I was going around telling everyone I’d have a gold and platinum record one day , and I was gonna make this music thing work and get my mom a house and get on billboard and have fans all over the world and people just laughed at me .. If you’re being laughed at for your dreams today .. smile and keep working nothing comes over night .. this was 4 years of failure and 1000 people saying no to me .. god is great love you all and Album release date coming soon.  I’m proud to be able to represent my Arab / Muslim culture in a industry where there are not much role Models and show that someone with the name Ali can have a good rep in the media .. I’m so blessed.”
