Scandal star Kerry Washington has taken to her Instagram to speak out on the cover of this month’s Adweek. Washington graces the cover and is featured inside the issue, but she is not happy about the photoshopping that’s been done. In the caption on an Instagram post of the cover, Washington says, “I love ADWEEK. It’s a publication I appreciate. And learn from… But, I have to be honest…I was taken aback by the cover…It felt strange to look at a picture of myself that is so different from what I look like when I look in the mirror. It’s an unfortunate feeling.” Read the entire statement below:

Adweek editorial director Jim Cooper has responded to the 39-year-old actors statement. He responded in a tweet that said, “Happy @kerrywashington was proud of her Adweek profile, sad cover misses for her. Added volume to hair for dramatic effect. No disrespect.”

Washington’s Adweek feature focuses more on her ventures outside of acting and the work she does with brands and marketing groups. You can read her feature here.
