Lady Gaga dropped her single ‘Rain on Me’ featuring Ariana Grande from her upcoming sixth studio album ‘Chromatica’ at midnight on Friday May 22.

The track highlights both singers’ vocal ability, while giving off a pop vibe with a techno touch. Fans have been anticipating this track since mid April, when Gaga released her tracklist.

Gaga spoke about the collab with Paper Magazine. “I sat with her and we talked about our lives, Rain on Me. It’s two women having a conversation about how to keep going and how to be grateful for what you do.”

She also tweeted at Ariana Grande Thursday evening regarding the release. “Love u @ArianaGrande, let’s do this. Nothing can stop us, we know that now..” Grande responded with, “I love you so much more. Nothing could stop us before either, we just had to realize it ! I’m so excited. Thank you I’m ready #rainonme.”

‘Rain on Me’ is the 2nd single off ‘Chromatica’, which was slated to drop last month, but was delayed due to the pandemic. Gaga spoke about the delay of her album and about COVID-19 in general. “This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic. Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions. It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.”

‘Chromatica’ is now set for release on Friday May 29th, and whether you’re a Little Monster, Arianator, or just a fan of good music, this is definitely something to look forward to.
