Girl Calls 9-1-1 Because She Doesn't Want to Go on Vacation

15 – year – old girl called 911 because she didn’t want to go on her family vacation.

The Star  interviewed Northumberland OPP Const. Stephen Bates who said that the girl called 911 saying that her “parents forced her to go on vacation with them.” 

OPP officers responded to the call and determined that there was no real emergency, the girl was just being a teenager.

OPP officer Bates reminds us that this is an inappropriate use of 911, “calls such as this tie up police resources which could impact the safety of others in the community who are in real need of assistance.”
