We love a girl who’s not afraid to show off a double chin! Meet RENA! She was recently rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas with her two siblings. She is 5 months, a Malinois/Terrior mix and will grow to be about 30lbs. She is very loving and cuddly. She is amazing with humans, kids, bunnies and cockatoos alike! (Her foster basically runs a zoo). She has TONS of energy and is ready to show you love! She will need basic training as well as potty training.

THALIA is opening up and beginning to cuddle at her fosters feet smile emoticon (she’s never been a cuddler). She’s also showing her quirks! She’ll ‘chase’ birds and planes but hid in her fosters closet the other day because there was a fly buzzing around. I don’t know how to feel about this but for some reason it sounds adorable. THALIA spent 6 years being passed by at a rescue in Mexico — due to age and black dog syndrome. She’s never really had a support system but her progress in foster is showing that she does like dependency on humans — just in her own way and on her own time. She’s looking for a home that doesn’t have a set concept for ‘what a pet is’ and is open to rescuing HER. She is fearful and will need space opening up. She needs calm, cool, collected and she will show you her quirks. She needs help progressing forward and being confident within herself and with others (dogs/humans)

Because I’m HAPPY! This guy is 7 months old and is full of ENERGY. “Lets go here, and there and then back over here. Oh, you’re going over there, okay same”. He has so far had no training and will need a helping hand! He is VERY anxious when left alone, even if just for a second. He wants to be anywhere you are and is not willing to compromise. Cage? Nah. Leave me alone outside for 5 seconds? Nah. He can be left alone and will stop whining but is destructive. He is progressing in foster but will need work! It is also noticed that he does MUCH BETTER with another dog. Having company is super important for him. It’s actually quite cute watching him go lay down next to any dog that will let him. That being said, the dog will need to be prepared for puppy time. He has no concept of space and needs to get all his energy out (play, run, jump off walls) before finally relaxing. Did I mention he is high energy?!? During his training he will test you by barking to get his way — so should probably not be in an apartment (unless your neighbours are the coolest people ever). That being said, he does love some good apartment hallway runs, staying by your side or fetching! He’s a Terrior mix but will likely grow from his current 30lbs. He’s good with ALL the things, just very curious! He’s a lover and just wants to show you and everyone that with the most amount of attention and energy possible.

?#?fostertalk? “JAZZ is the SWEETEST boy oh my goodness. He loves everybody and will wait so patiently and then sometimes not so patiently (but never rudely) for his turn to be pet and get love. He has been doing really well with the 6 month old SOS alumni we have been watching for a friend, and is even helpful with his training. What they say about not being able to teach an old dog new tricks is totally disproven on this guy. He came to us already responding to his name and to sit. He’s now got shake a paw and almost lay down/ roll over. He does not bark at all, unless a doggy friend is passing on our walk he’d really like to meet. He does great on walks, and is quickly learning not to pull on the leash. He is such a cuddler, and loves to take puppy naps with his people smile emoticon. He came 100% housebroken and has not had any accidents at all. This boy is always happy, but never more so than when he gets to chew on a really squeaky toy” JAZZ is 7, a Jack Russell cross and weighs 18lbs! He’s ready for a home.

If you’re looking for a snuggle partner then SKY is the girl for you! She’s very low maintenance and just loves to laze on the couch. Outside she gets very excited but also very nervous, and we’re working on her confidence as well as her leash skills. She’s very smart and has picked up many basic commands. She LOVES to cuddle and be with you all the time and she’s very good with cats. She tends to get jealous and loves to have all your attention all the time. She needs someone with patience and tenacity to help her to continue to work on her confidence. She also has hip dysplasia and comes with special care instructions for the rest of her life, possibly needing surgery down the road. She is special and deserves a special home.

I shall call her squishy and she will be mine and she shall be my squishy. Meet BRANDY! She is a Hound mix, 4 years old and 50lbs! She is a-mazing. Loves people, dogs, food, bedtime.. and repeat. She even loves strangers on the street (am I rapping?!) and is just dying to meet everyone. She loves attention and will sometimes even do a little ‘bump’ to get other dogs out of the way to get some lovin’. She loves being indoors and outside! She is super calm and laid back, will lay near you on the bed or deck. She’s house and crate trained, good on a leash and is good with commands. Otherwise, she’s a little bit of a princess but just depends on how you spoil her! She is being fostered in Toronto!

A note from RACHEL GREEN’S foster “She’s doing really well and is showing her personality more and mor each day. Shes finally using her nose and trusting people instead of ignoring them completely. She’s super gentle and is great on walks. She’s a bit apprehensive of new dogs but never skittish. She also loves her foster brothers and follows them everywhere. She’s great in cars and is housebroken, she hasn’t gotten the doing her business while you’re holding her leash but we’ll get there” She’s a 2 year old Coonhound mix, weighing in at a healthy 45lbs! She’s being fostered in Toronto if you’d like to meet her!
