Music producer Alex Da Kid has given unprecedented access to his creativity process with this short IBM documentary about his debut solo single, ‘Not Easy’.

IBM explained in a statement to Mashable that Watson, (also known as the artificial intelligence unit that was developed by IBM) is basically a computer program that’s used to research and analysis culture; Alex used Watson to help him create his new song.

He used an app called, ‘Watson Beat’ from IBM  that, according to The Fader, “allows the user to ‘teach’ Watson what sounds good and create original works based on this musical language”.

He explained in an interview with Z100’s Elvis Duran that, “My creative process starts with a conversation. And when I kind of understood what Watson could do, it could kind of take that conversation and that understanding of how people talk to each other and do that on a massive scale.”
