Bey best

A course on Beyonce…can I get an amen!

The University of Waterloo is offering a new course in the Fall, called Gender and Performance. But don’t be fooled by the plain and simple name, because this course is ALL about Queen Bey.

The course analyses videos from the megastar’s fifth and most recent album, titled “Beyonce.”

Waterloo’s drama professor Naila Keleta-Mae says she based the course on that specific album because it’s the first time Beyonce explicitly aligns herself with feminism.

“The fact that Beyonce … is making feminism mainstream … is worth studying,”  Keleta-Mae says.

The University of Victoria, B.C, is also introducing a course on Mrs Carter.

Being one of the most influential women in entertainment and modern culture, focusing on Beyonce is a perfect fit for disciplines like gender studies and sociology.

“It’s about being relevant. And it’s about being connected.”

We don’t blame you for wanting to transfer schools just to enrol in this course.
