In a new video for The Hollywood Reporter Justin Timberlake opened up why he never recorded again with *NSYNC and why he left, “We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing was too big… It started as a fun snowball fight that was becoming an avalanche.”

He added, “And also, I was growing out of it..I felt like I cared more about the music than some of the other people in the group. And I felt like I had other music I wanted to make and that I needed to follow my heart.”

Justin revealing that he felt members of the group weren’t as committed to making music will likely come as a surprise to many fans.

Justin and the boys says “bye bye bye” (sorry for that) in 2002 when they announced a “temporary hiatus”, the group hasn’t recorded since then.

Justin has gone on to do very well for himself as he launched two solo albums shortly thereafter with Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds. He’s also gotten into acting with roles in The Social Network and Bad Teacher.

The interview wasn’t all serious as Justin also “apologized” for some of their notorious fashion choices as members of *NSYNC.
